Absurd Plot for a War against the North
The 24th south Korea-US conference for “Security Policy Initiative” was held recently in Seoul, south Korea.
At the conference the south Korean military authorities presumptuously termed the regular gun-firing exercises of the north Korean army in the West Sea of Korea in last January as a provocation and let loose a string of belligerent remarks such as “close observation” of the north’s movement, “perfect posture to cope with someone’s contingency” and tightening the policy cooperation.
They also discussed the matters relating to enacting the south Korea-US “defense guidelines” for supplying the “US reinforcements” and “extended nuclear deterrent force” to south Korea in case of contingency of the Korean Peninsula, and guaranteeing the conditions for the “stable stationing of the US occupation troops in south Korea”.
It is an undisguised challenge to the north which exerts its sincere efforts for establishing a peace and a durable peace mechanism of the Korean Peninsula, and premeditated anti-DPRK hostile acts aimed to drive the situation to a brink of war.
Days ago, the commander of the US Forces Korea emphasized that even after the “transfer of the wartime operation command right” to the south Korean army no change would occur in the US-south Korean military combined operations and the supply of the US “nuclear deterrent force” and information to the south Korean army would continue.
And the south Korean defense minister claimed that the timing for the “transfer of the wartime operation command right” should be delayed under the pretext of nonexistent “nuclear threat” from the north and the “security vacuum”.
All the facts clearly show that the “denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula, “dialogue” and the “improvement of relations” much hyped by the US and south Korean authorities are no more than a lip service, and they harbor only sinister intentions of strangling the north by means of force.
The south Korean and US war maniacs should stop at once the confrontation and war provocation moves against north Korea running counter to the unanimous aspiration and will of the Korean people and the world progressives for independent reunification, peace and prosperity, and lasting peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.
Anti-reunification Ministry
The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Fatherland of the DPRK in its spokesman’s statement on January 23 branded south Korean minister of Unification Hyun In-taek as one of the “four traitors of 2010”, who sells out the national interests to foreign forces and runs amuck in confrontation against the fellow countrymen.
Hyun is a heinous anti-reunification confrontational maniac.
With the advent of the Lee Myoung-bak regime in 2008 it was none other than Hyun who impetuously advocated the abolition of the “Ministry of Unification”, stood in the van of the moves to destroy the inter-Korean relations, and cooked up the anti-reunification confrontational policy, namely “no nukes, openness and US$ 3,000”.
What the Ministry of Unification headed by such anti-reunification element has done is only the inter-Korean showdown and the anti-reunification moves.
The worst crime the Ministry of Unification is committing against the nation is to oppose the south-north declarations, independent reunification programs common to the nation, rejecting their implementation by all means.
The Ministry of Unification is hell-bent on disparaging the historical significance of the inter-Korean declarations and the successes made by them, regarding the north’s persistence on implementing them as inappropriate and without any legal binding force.
It blocks every effort for the north-south contacts, dialogue and cooperation which had been proceeded in accordance with the idea of “By our nation itself”.
It barred the visit of civic organizations to Pyongyang, refuses the resumption of the Gaeseong and Mt. Geumgang tour under absurd pretext, revises the reunification-related and history textbooks with the contents that stir up the confrontational conscience between the fellow countrymen, openly reviving the “principal enemy theory”, a handover of the confrontational era.
It also is running amuck with bloodshot eyes to do harm to the fellow countrymen in collusion with the outside forces clamoring about the so-called “dismantlement of nukes first”.
It obstinately opposes the improvement of inter-Korean relations insisting that the inter-Korean relations cannot be developed apart from the progress in the nuclear issue.
Worse still, it commits extremely reckless acts to harm the north’s system foolishly clamoring about the so-called “emergency case”.
The Ministry of Unification is wickedly reviling the dignified ideology and system of the DPRK and openly pursuing the wild ambition of “unification under the liberal democratic system”.
Its anti-reunification and anti-national moves to turn the inter-Korean relations to a total deadlock without any dialogue and cooperation, despite the north’s initiative measures and earnest efforts, invoke the unanimous denunciation from the Korean people.
The Ministry of Unification of south Korea which challenges the current of the times and the desire of the compatriots for independent reunification, peace and prosperity should be disbanded and the traitors to the nation including Hyun In-taek will be sternly punished by the history and nation.
