Proud Course of the DPRK

That great President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948 was a historic event which opened up a new phase of building a people-centered socialist state.

For 60-odd years since its foundation the republic has traversed the road of proud victory and eye-catching prosperity.

After less than 2 years since its foundation the young republic inflicted the first-ever defeat on the US imperialists who boasted of being the “strongest” in the world and the heroic Korean people carried out the historical task of industrialization on the debris of the war in a short period of less than 14 years by displaying their indomitable mental power. So it became a miraculous country dignified as a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.

All the miracles and changes taken place in Korea prevailed with backwardness and poverty century after century are attributed to the clairvoyant wisdom and energetic leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

The undying exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who built up Korea which was eclipsed on the world map in the past as a dignified independent state and a socialist power centered on the popular masses, will shine for all ages.

Today the history of the republic’s prosperity shines further more thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of great leader Kim Jong Il.

Thanks to his Songun leadership the idea and desire of the President for building a rich and powerful country materialized into a striking reality and the appearance of Songun Korea has been radically refurbished.

Leader Kim Jong Il incomparably increased the politico-ideological might of the republic by the Songun politics, and holding fast to it as a weapon he smashed the imperialist reactionaries’ moves to isolate and strangle the DPRK in every step, thus firmly defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the Juche-oriented socialist system and opened up an avenue of building a prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

Thanks to the Songun politics, the patriotic anti-imperialist independent politics pursued by leader Kim Jong Il, a historical change took place in the reunification movement and the international prestige and influence of the republic augmented remarkably.

Today the republic is creating the startling miracles and feats in overall sectors of the economic construction and social life including the economy, science and technology, literature and art, and sports in a bid to fling open the gate to a thriving nation without fail by 2012, the centenary of the birth of great President Kim Il Sung.

As far as the Korean nation holds in high esteem leader Kim Jong Il, brilliant commander of Baekdu born of Heaven, and follows his great Songun politics, only victory and glory are promised for the future of the DPRK.

Now the patriotic south Korean people of different social segments, looking up to the DPRK which sheds its rays all over the world as a bulwark of independence under the wise leadership of leader Kim Jong Il, are vigorously waging the struggle for independence, democracy and reunification upholding his Songun politics to bring earlier the day when they lead a happy life in a new world without foreign forces and exploitation.
